ABOUT THE OKIE BOOKCAST

The Okie Bookcast is dedicated to connecting readers with their next great read by amplifying Oklahoma authors and storytellers. Since its launch in 2021, the Bookcast has released over 150 episodes across several series, including a monthly book chat show co-hosted with his daughter, author and screenwriter Hannah Herron.

Beyond interviews, the Bookcast also features books chat and recommendations with Your Next Great Read and Oklahoma poetry with Behind the Rain: An Audio Anthology of Oklahoma Poetry.

ABOUT J

J Hall is the author of two award-winning nonfiction books: God Help Me! I’m a Young Dad: 10 Essentials for Becoming the Dad Your Kids Need and College Unpacked: A Practical Guide to Choosing, Preparing For, and Excelling in College. His first novel is scheduled to release in early 2027. A frequent podcast guest, he speaks on topics ranging from books and pop culture to podcasting, education, and fatherhood. J currently serves as Dean of Social Sciences at Oklahoma City Community College and lives in Newcastle with his wife and dog.
