ABOUT THE OKIE BOOKCAST
The Okie Bookcast is dedicated to connecting readers with their next great read by amplifying Oklahoma authors and storytellers. Each episode includes an interview with a contributor to the reading life of Oklahoma - it might be author, publisher, librarian, reader, bookseller, or other figure. In addition to the interview, each episode includes a review from an Oklahoma author about a book they love.
Beyond interviews, the Bookcast also features books chat and recommendations with Your Next Great Read and Oklahoma poetry with Behind the Rain: An Audio Anthology of Oklahoma Poetry.
ABOUT J
J Hall is a life-long Oklahoman (even when he lived in Texas) and a life-long lover of books. He lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, Kenda, daughter Rebekah, and a revolving cast of adult children who come through for holidays, meals, and occasional dog-sitting (Caleb and his wife, Maria; Hannah and her husband, Triston; and Nathan). Hall's love of learning and education led him to earn a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Oklahoma where he currently works as an assistant dean in the College of Professional and Continuing Studies.
J loves books (sci-fi, thrillers, horror, literary fiction), games (Catan, Obscurio, Dixit, Scrabble, so many others), sports (Cubs, Sooners, Thunder - in that order), movies and television (too many to list), traveling with Kenda, and hiking and cycling. The idea for the Okie Bookcast woke him up early one Saturday morning and he's been chasing it since.
